Abstract: | Double Reduplications in Parallel ROA-73 doub-red.ps (33pp.) doub-red-ps.zip Suzanne Urbanczyk suzanne@oitunix.oit.umass.edu UMass/UBC The separate identity requirements of different reduplicative morphemes interact, allowing doubly reduplicated words to be formed in parallel. The analysis accounts for a cyclic identity effect in one set of forms in Lushootseed (Puget Salish). Overapplication of epenthesis occurs, causing the base (which contains reduplicative material) to contain the default vowel. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: |
