Bibliography: FORMAT

Help Menu

The ROA bibliography can currently be downloaded in two main file formats: Text and Endnote/Tagged.

Text files contain plain ASCII characters. They are recognized by every operating system. If you simply want a list of ROAs, choose this option.

The Endnote/Tagged format is a special format for bibliography programs. Bibliographic programs like Endnote (and many others) can convert specially formatted text files into bibliographies. If you have Endnote, it is a straightforward matter to create an Endnote ROA bibliography. Follow the steps below:
1. Download the ROA Endnote Filter. Save it to your Endnote filter folder (typically "\Program Files\EndNote\Filters"). Click here to download the file.
2. Choose the "Endnote (Tagged)" format on this webpage. The "Ordered By" option has no effect, so you can choose either setting.
3. Click the "Get File" button. Wait until the file is generated, and then save it to an easily accessible location (e.g. your desktop).
4. Open Endnote.
5. Create a new library (FILE>NEW).
6. Click FILE>IMPORT
7. In the "IMPORT OPTION" box, choose 'Other Filters', then highlight the 'ROA' filter and click CHOOSE.
8. Click the "Choose File" button, and select the file you downloaded in step 3.
9. Click the IMPORT button.
10. Endnote will create the bibliography.
