| Abstract: | The augmentation of prosodic words and reduplication in Axininca Campa analyzed in OT in McCarthy & Prince (1993) will be reanalyzed within the framework of Natural Derivational Phonology proposed in Lee (2009a). (And the augmentation of prosodic words in Lardil will also be dealt with.) The complicated problems encountered in the augmentation and reduplication in Axininca Campa will be shown to be solved in a natural fashion. Most significantly, constraints apply in accordance with the natural ranking of universal ranking principles, allowing evaluation constraints to assess their products, in Natural Derivational Phonology. |
