| Abstract: | The problem of phonological opacity challenges OT, providing the main argument in favor of serialism. I will discuss it, citing data from the Yawelmani and Wikchamni dialects of Yokuts, within the framework of Natural Derivational Phonology proposed in Lee (2009a). And in section 5 the Yawelmani cases dealt with in sympathy theory and OT-CC will be reviewed. |
