Abstract: | In this paper we study context-sensitive versions of bidirectional Optimality Theory (OT). We discuss a problem presented by Jason Mattausch which shows that context-sensitivity may lead into circularity. In order to be able to represent it we introduce a fundamental structure for bidirectional OT which we call Blutner structure. The discussion of Mattausch's Example leads us to combine bidirectional OT with Dynamic Semantics. |
