Abstract: | This document was originally circulated in April 1993 and has been available as Technical Report #3 of the Rutgers University Center for Cognitive Science. The current version is essentially identical to RuCCS-TR-3, with a few minor corrections and with the addition of a preface and bibliography situating it in relation to more recent developments.
