Abstract: | Identity Effects in Morphological Truncation ROA-74 identrunc.ps, identrunc.rtf identrunc-ps.zip, identrunc-rtf.zip Laura Benua benua@linguist.umass.edu. UMass, Amherst This study of morphological truncation establishes correspondence relations (McCarthy & Prince 1995-ROA 60) between separate words (dubbed output-output correspondence), with evidence from phonological effects of over- and underapplication. Templatic deletion and circumscriptional patterns are similarly analyzed in terms of output-output relations. Extension of the correspondence model to so-called "cyclic" phenomena is also briefly considered. *Hard copies are available upon request to benua@linguist.umass.edu. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: |
